Journeys and Templates are a great way to save a series of activities for future use and provide a variety of options to personalize the engagement level for individuals. Think of them as saving a particular layout of activities that you want to use, which can also be easily assigned at the click of a button. Keeping journeys and templates helps to save time and promote efficiency in assigning activities to your clients.
NeuroFlow has added journeys and templates for you to utilize by default that you might find useful. Any NeuroFlow-added templates will have "Default" as the first word. These layouts should give you an idea of the many possibilities that arise from creating your own!
What is the difference between a Journey and a Template?
Journeys
A Journey is a collection of activities such as videos, journals, readings, and more, tailored towards a specific topic like Sleep or Healthy Relationships. They're often categorized by steps, which are subcategories of the initial topic. You can set these steps to be available after a certain amount of days to manage the pacing of the journey or have all of them available immediately. Once a Journey is completed, they are generally not completed again.
Templates
Templates are very similar to Journeys, as they are also sets of activities. However, they have slight differences. Repetition frequency, deadlines, and time due can be configured for all activities in Templates. They can also include screeners, such as:
- PHQ-9
- GAD-7
- AUDIT-C
- And several more!
As opposed to Journeys, Templates can be linked to Triggers so that they are assigned to users after a certain condition is met. For example, you can connect a Template to a trigger and have it set to assign that template to all new registrants,
How to Create Journeys and Templates:
There are two ways to create your own template; from the Content tab, and while assigning activities to one or several users.
1. Hover over the "Content" tab, and select "Journeys & Templates" from the drop-down list.
2. Here, you'll be able to see the journeys and templates that have already been created, and you can create a new one by clicking "Create Content".
3. After you click, you can choose whether you want to create a Journey or a Template from the dropdown.
Creating Journeys
-
Create your Journey cover - The first part of creating your Journey will be creating the cover. Here, you can add an optional cover image, the title that the users will see, the description of the goal the Journey seeks to fulfill, and an internal title if you'd like to see a different title in the content dashboard.
-
Create your "Steps" - Steps are sub-sections of your journey in which all the activities will relate to a topic. For example, in NeuroFlow's Sleep Journey, the second step is titled "Setting a Sleep Goal," and both the reading and journal activity are about setting goals for sleep. After giving your step a title, you have the option of staggering the availability time to help the user process what they learned.
-
Add your activities - You can choose any amount of activities from our dropdown; questionnaires, videos, journals, a custom pdf reading, and more! Each activity has a "Required" toggle that when turned on, will require the user to complete that activity before moving on to the next one in the journey. Activities will either require you to choose from our selection, such as choosing a PHQ-9 for the questionnaire you'd like to administer, or to enter your own link or PDF, like when choosing a YouTube video.
- When you've added all your steps and activities, you can press the red "Save" button in the upper-right corner. If you click the back button, your Journey will not be saved.
Creating Templates
There are 2 types of templates: Non-repeating, and repeating
• Non-repeating - used for activities that will only occur once (and never again)
• Repeating - used for activities like monthly questionnaires, reminders, or for activities not meant to be done in any sort of order but might occur on a monthly or quarterly basis
- Once you name your template, the template creation is very similar to the Assigning Templates page. You'll be asked to choose all the activities you'd like to include in the template and provide scheduling details to ensure the activities are assigned when you want them to be.
- We suggest naming it something descriptive, so you remember what to use it for and what is in it. If you ever forget, you can view details on the templates page by clicking the title of the template.
NOTE: You can also create a template after assigning a set of activities on the ASSIGN page. The final step of the assignment flow asks you if you'd like to create a template. This allows you to save the assignment you just made for later use.
How to Remove Journeys and Templates from the Content Page:
Click on the three dots next to the activity set and select "Archive". Once it is archived, it cannot be retrieved.
Once you select "Archive," you will see a pop-up confirming you want to remove the template. Templates and Journeys will remain assigned to any users even after they are archived. You must check the box to archive any templates or journeys.
